Ellen M. Fister was born on May 2, 1961, in Los Angeles, California. She attended the California State University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1992. She received her law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 2000. She is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in California.
